I hope everyone is well and enjoying life; maybe even the abundant life in Christ.

Our winter camp was a success even with the strange weather pattern. From frigid temperatures on the Friday evening into Saturday to threatened rain for Sunday afternoon. In spite of it being very cold at the beginning my sleep system didn’t fail me and I slept warmly in the evening.
But I have to admit – I’m really looking forward to the summer season. Ya…I’m ready.

We had a gorgeous moon and the air was very crisp. The food was great. My colleague made a snow quinzee and slept in that. He was actually warm whereas my tent kept the snow and wind at bay but didn’t provide any heat.

Early in the morning, I could hear the coyotes very clearly and the owl woke me up at 3:20 AM

FIRST OF ALL – thank you for your complimentary comments – very much appreciated. As you all well know I can talk about this stuff forever. I also enjoy reading what you have to post but feel sad because there is only a hand full of us. “Huntaholic” has done such a great job putting this site together and it would be great if there were a lot more folks sharing. Anyway…

I do have more than one winter tent and I do have a wood-burning stove. When it is not too cold I have a Buddy Heater to warm me up a tad. For me to use the woodstove I prefer to be out for a week or two. It’s just too much work for a weekend to put up a hot tent.

Thanks again – and please post as much as possible.

The picture? This is one of my hot tents with my wood stove burning hotly. As you can see I put the vestibule on in the front to give me space to keep my gear out of the storm.

Thanks so much for the kind words Dancer, i think many come to look and read the stories but don’t share but that’s Ok ! I’m praying that this Site grows in the future. That’s a Awesome Big tent with the Wood Burning stove, i can see why you don’t take it for Short trips. Nice to have the Options. Absolutely Fantastic looking place.
