ModeratorThis year I plan on trying some Trout Fishing in the Toccoa River, there’s some GREAT areas around Ellijay and Blue Ridge. They have a Public Canoe launch near Ellijay. I need to pick up some Hip Waders, and a little advice. But I’m hoping for some Tips from my Nephew James ! Looking forward to Spring in Gods County.

ParticipantNew fishing regs are out and it looks like all Georgia trout streams are now year round. There are still special regulations about bait and catch-and-release but it looks like there is no longer a restricted trout “season.” Besides the close-by trout fishing on the Hooch, think about the streams near Clayton. There are isolated streams up in Warwoman WMA and an easy access section of Warwoman Creek at Earl’s Ford Rd. that runs down to the Chatooga. Regularly stocked with rainbows for put and take but I have caught a brookie or two on rooster-tails. I’ll try to hit the area after Easter and do a little ruffed grouse scouting at the same time.
