ParticipantI’m pretty pumped about this weekend. My girls are out of town so I took Friday off to have a 3-day weekend and get some work done down at camp. The main project is an outhouse build. I’ve got the materials and have started putting together the base. So far so good. I’m going to assemble the main pieces and hope it all fits in the truck when I head out on Friday. Will keep you all posted, but hope to have it all together for Friday night. Weather looks good, its only going to be 90 degrees down there. We have a freak cold front coming through in Texas. It is normally 114 degrees. Can’t stop there though, need to fill the feeder, put down the salt blocks and ice cream salt, check the stands, trim shooting lanes, mount my table to the floor in the bus, and may just have some time to do some fishing. Will keep you posted with some more pictures.

ParticipantUpdate, got down to camp on Friday afternoon and got to work, had everything except the door assembled by Friday night. Saturday I got up early and finished the door. Thought it turned out pretty nice. The weather couldn’t be beat, 90 degrees for the high and 65 at night. It was also the first time since last summer it was dry enough to drive the truck through the land. Caught a couple of small blue gill, bass weren’t biting this time. Went to fill the feed and to my surprise there was mud pit beneath it and the hogs had ripped and bent one side of the metal cage protecting the spinner as the mud had sunk the supports and it was hanging about 3′ above the ground. I had to slosh around and pivet the supports around to dry land to get some height on it. Lucky I had my Muck boots! Got the plyers out and had to stretch the cage back, but got it done and the spinner was still working. Both my cameras had died on me with recent new batteries. Think they are done, but I set a new one out. Hopefully, I’ll have some good pictures next time. The deer had dug a hole about 1′ deep at my salt block near my stand though.
Cooked some steaks on the grill with baked beans, and stained the outhouse on Sunday.
Overall a nice long weekend that I really enjoyed. Here are some pictures.
