ModeratorWell I just killed my 35th Deer with my Bow and it’s a Texas Buck. Went out to hunt with my Oldest Son at his land in Red River County, a Buck must have a 13 inch inside Spread or you can take a Spike. My Son had been trying to get Some Meat after letting Several Does and a few Bucks go early, Saturday morning we saw lots of Deer and he saw BUCKS but not anything legal and Doe days are gone. About 10 O’clock I look up and this Spike is coming down the road toward me and he Stops and I’m thinking hey come on, finally he starts walking right to me so I stand and confirm he is a legal Spike and tell myself Brian needs some Meat. I Drew on him an stopped him with a Bleat I let my arrow fly and a complete passthrough, the Buck only went about 15 yards and started to Stumble and about 15 more and he face planted and did a flip. Definitely not a Big Buck but he will Eat Good. My First Texas Buck but he want be my last. GOOD times for Sure.

ParticipantThat was a great weekend for sure, really enjoyed the company down at deer camp! Weather was crazy the day before but it really was perfect for Saturday and Sunday. The deer were really moving that morning, think we saw 23 deer between the two of us. Glad you were able to connect on that buck, we needed the meat! Congrats on a Texas deer!

ParticipantUpdate, got 35 lbs of ground and 4 packs of backstrap from this deer. Local processor did a great job and they cook BBQ daily and are about 12 miles from camp. Put some backstrap on the charcoal grill last night, you talk about some good eatin.
