My family and I have decided to move back east and be closer to family. We love Texas and the last 8 years we have been here but it just made sense to make the move back. It’s bittersweet as we had a great neighborhood, friends, and the schools but I know it will be the right move for us. It’s even harder to let go of the land and the many great times enjoyed and hard work put into the camp. As luck would have it my neighbor to the east decided to purchase it and double his acreage so it worked out great. We close this Friday so I headed to camp a couple of weeks back to collect the items I wanted to bring back from the bus. It was tough to say goodbye but I know it is in great hands. My neighbor even said I could come back and hang out and hunt when time allows so I went ahead and got a lifetime license for Texas. I’ll miss it for sure but hope to get back in future. Here are some pictures from the last weekend. My family is already in NC and we got a contract on our house this past Monday so I will roll out on Friday with the dog joining me in the Uhaul. We’ll be east bound and down and I’m clear! Tell them smokeys to stay out of the way cause were coming through!

      O man!
I know you hate to leave that place but you have some great Memories to keep with you. Maybe you can find another place, good luck on the move and be careful driving. Remember everything happens for a reason.

I know you’re going to miss this place but maybe just maybe you can find a place in NC to hunt. I’m sure glad you’re going to be closer to Georgia and the Beach! I know ONE thing I will always remember Texas because I killed the first deer down there ๐Ÿ˜ see pic ! B careful on your way.

Well at least you get to go back for a hunt now and then but you’ll find a new place before to long. Best of luck on your move.

Update: We ended up finding a sweet place in Greensboro, NC with good schools, fairly close to the inlaws, and tucked away on 10 acres at the back of a neighborhood. The house is an old cape cod style with a nice pasture in the backyard, a tall barn with concrete floor/basketball goals, and a little room for an office. The rest of the tract is heavilly wooded with a creek along one line and another creek that crosses near the back. It backs up to another 30 acre tract across the creek and a couple other larger tracts between the other neoghborhoods. We close this Wednesday and we’re pretty excited. Saw deer in the neighborhood the first time we walked it, so I’ll be looking forward to getting a few stands up and getting the bow ready as NC’s season starts up on the 9th. Here are few pictures, but will try to post some more once we all get settled in.

Looking forward to exploring and making it our own!
