Spent the last weekend – 6/10 – at a writers workshop at Parker Ranch in Clayton, Georgia. It was conducted by the Georgia author and ecologist Janisse Ray (Ecology of a Cracker Childhood). The workshop was great and Parker Ranch was fantastic. Check them out when you are ready to get out of the city heat. The house is from 1907 and beautifully rustic. The food is amazing and the location is wonderfully calming but in easy reach of all of mountain activities. Go to http://www.parkersranch.com for details.
