Well, we had an adventure this weekend taking the new bus down the property. It started off well and we were making good progress, me in the bus and my neighbor playing blocker in my truck. However, about 35 miles out, we soon hit a traffic jam and that is where we ran into some issues. The bus started bogging out at speed. We stopped once, it cranked back up, but we only made it another mile or so and it bogged down again and wouldn’t crank no more. We called a local tow shop and the driver arrived after about 1.5 hours. The tow driver Karen was great and towed us the remaining 80 miles to the property. I told her it was hunting property off the dirt road, but I don’t think she entirely knew what she was getting into. We made it to the private road, but she could not make the tight turns with the bus on tow. She had to let us down on our private road, have me steer and winch us about 75′ at a time the last 400′ to the camp. However, 6.5 hours later from when we left, the bus had made it to the camp and we were set up. She told me in hindsight if she knew it was going to be this much work, she would have turned us down, however, I think she was just messing with us. I tipped her the cash I had on hand. Overall expensive, but you know what, you can always get more money! (a friend told me that once, and I thought that was a good saying).

We got some rest that night and had a nice day of filling the feeder, fishing, checking the cameras, and walking the property. We saw a few deer running and a great horned owl. It was not the start I wanted to the weekend, but the bus is there and now we have a place to stay. I still plan to have the bus checked to see if it is the fuel filter or fuel pump to have it run, but, now time to setup the floor plan and start framing up beds, bunks, cabinets, etc. Overall a fun weekend. Here are some pictures.

This is the biggest bass I’ve seen out of our pond. Probably 2 lbs. I thought about grilling him up for a second, but threw him back cause we always need more big fish making big fish.
