ParticipantHello Everyone – Peace and Joy from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The trip was amazing! What makes for a good trip? Warm Water to Swim, Excellent Equipment, Fabulous Food, Quiet Nights, Superb Scenery, A Great Companion, Wild Life, Good Conversation, Rain, Mosquitos, and Escape from the ho-hum of daily life.
I hope that everyone is having a great summer and building up those memories for future remembrances.
Unfortunately, this site doesn’t allow me to download a panoramic page. I’ll add more pictures in the next little while.

ParticipantSome may think this a bit strange – but I place/paint memorials to friends and people I know. The bear painted on the rock [last year] is in memory of a wonderful lady who loved canoeing. The Memorial Totem [made at home] was posted for a young Leader who died this past May. I usually pick an isolated part of the trail that few would explore.
The other thing I do is attach a toilet seat to the “thunderbox” – the outhouse box that is provided at each campsite. They are pretty primitive as you might expect, so I place them at every campsite that I camp on. I think I have covered just about every campsite in the region. So…if you ever camp in this neck of the lake you will know I’ve been there because there is my totem [a black bear] painted on the lid.

ParticipantThe Snake House? That’s funny too – I can picture that. It reminds me of the time I put a can of beans on the fire – for quick heat-up, without opening the can. It became hot of course and when I opened it up it sort of exploded. Like there were beans flying everywhere. The guys called me “Bennie” for the rest of the trip.
A few more pics – the kitchen shelter [we had enough rain] and a view of a nearby tributary that we explored.

ParticipantThank you everyone – I hope everyone is having a great summer – they are so short. A couple more of the pics including the beach, a short paddle from our site. There was no one there but the two of us. Swam for some time and enjoyed the sun and sand. Then had wieners and beaners cooked over my hiker’s stove before heading back to our camp to enjoy an evening campfire.
