Hello everyone. I wanted you to know you are in my prayers.

AWAKENINGS… [In the light of our current situation.]

Some people will save hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars – because we are not running around spending money we do not have.
Some will appreciate a Day of Rest as we use to have – because we do not have the freedom to do everything and be everywhere and do what we want because we think it’s our right.
Some people will actually enjoy a home-cooked meal with food purchased from the local grocery store – because there are no restaurants to cook our meals.
Some people will spend quality time with family and friends at home – because family and friends will become more important now.
Some people will get back to thinking about God – because fear and confusion have a habit of bringing us to our knees.
Some people will think deeply about their commitments, values, and what is really important in their life – because we have been forced into a situation where we have to think about the meaning of life and the activity that occupies our time.
Some people will stop and smell the roses and the other fragrances in the garden – because we have the time to do that now.
Some will actually be thankful for what they have – because we are truly blessed but somehow have forgotten that.

I INVITE YOU TO ADD TO MY LIST, SO WE CAN SHARE ONE ANOTHER’S WISDOM AND BLESSINGS.

Well Someone has to go first so I will. Lately I’ve been really looking at what I have and not what I don’t, I’m a Simple Man and I have been Blessed to have been born in a Great Country with many Freedoms. Sometimes we need to be reminded of this, of course I’m already praying about all of this.

Excellent “BIG JIM”! I appreciate you stepping up to the plate. You might want to ask yourself what you plan to do differently when this is all over. If anyone thinks things will be normal again we better think again. Blessings.

Dancer I believe you are right On ! I think things are going to be very different, maybe in a good way. Hopefully people will not take for granted the Blessed life that we have. I know I have been praying a bunch here lately.

Well I actually told my Wife the Other day I can’t remember praying more in my life Other than when she was Sick several years ago. Not try to do Dancers job but the LORD tells us not to worry which is almost impossible. This being said I have really had to do alot of Prayers lately, and I will continue even after this strange time has passed.

This certainly is a peculiar situation that modern society has not experienced before. We sort of thought the days of the Black Death were long buried in the ancient history books, surprise.

I have been moved by the generosity and the legitimate efforts of so many people everywhere. It does the heart good to see good people doing good things.

I appreciate your comments “huntaholic” and I appreciate this site.

I like your nom de plume too – Coureve des Bois “runner of the woods:-)

Thank you Sir ! Courage des Bois is ONE of my favorites in fact it was going to be my name on the website, but I went with Huntaholic instead. I have Often wondered what it would have been like to walk or ride a Horse Over this Country and Yours as the Mountain Men did so many years ago. One thing’s for Sure they probably didn’t live Very long.

Two books I enjoyed immensely were Company of Adventures and Ceasars of the Wildnerness by Peter C. Newman. His comprehensive history and description of the Coureve de Bois was breathtaking. I wouldn’t be able to last an hour trying to keep up with their absolutely brutal lifestyle. But…as harsh as it was it’s also romantic. I think of my simplistic canoe trips and sleeping under the modern roof of our tents to be more than enough to capturer my spirit of adventure.

You Nailed it Dancer ! I like to think I’m a survivalist but the Sad truth is modern day luxury has spoiled me. O I can Split Wood by hand and build a fairly decent building by hand, I probably could survive but not as good as I Dream. I can’t imagine having to sleep out in the raw wilderness like those Men did. It’s Fun to Dream
